With the use of beads, paper, thread and other textiles sourced from her immediate environment Susan has hand-crafted delicate items including earrings, bracelets, sculptures, panels, stuffed animals, pendants and clothing items. For years Ms. Brown donated unsold items to local domestic violence shelters and hospitals and taught crochet classes to fellow artists.
Drawing inspiration from African and Native American cultures, Susan focuses primarily on her hand beaded creations as of late. Featured in over a dozen art exhibits across the globe, not only has her work garnered the attention of thousands, it has earned several honors including multiple first place awards.
